King's Award for Enterprise 2026

New Reg wins the King's Award for Enterprise for Innovation

6 May 2026 · Will Fletcher MBE

New Reg Limited, the company behind carfaultcodes.co.uk, has been granted the King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. It is the highest official honour a UK business can receive, approved by the King on the advice of the Prime Minister.

I wanted to write a few words on what it recognises, and why it matters if you are using this site.

What the King’s Award actually is

The King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation goes to UK businesses that can show genuine innovation with a real, sustained commercial impact over at least two years.

The assessment is independent and rigorous. It looks at the nature of the innovation, the evidence of commercial benefit, and the wider contribution to the UK economy. It is not a popularity contest, it does not reward marketing, and it cannot be bought. That is exactly why it means something to us.

Why it matters if you are here

Most people land on carfaultcodes.co.uk because a warning light has come on and they want a straight answer. That is what the site is built to give: a plain-English explanation of what a code means, how serious it usually is, and what to do next. Free, with no login and no small print.

The award recognises the technology and the standards behind the group’s tools, and this fault code library is held to the same bar. When you look something up here, you are using a site from a business that has been independently assessed and found to be genuinely innovative in how it serves drivers. That is the assurance the emblem is meant to carry.

Held to 2031

The King’s Award is held for five years, to May 2031, and during that time we are entitled to display the emblem across our sites and materials. You will see it in the footer here and across the group’s other sites. We are not tucking it away in a corner. It is a signal that the information you are reading comes from a team whose work has been recognised at the highest level.

If you have a question about the award or about the site, you can get in touch. You can also see the rest of what we build on our group page.
